From Thursday 8 March to Sunday 1 April 2007 see me... Now See Me at Number nine the gallery "This event is an exhibition of about 30 pieces of my paintings. 2007 marks the tenth anniversary of my first major international exhibition that we managed to put on in New York and thereafter in other major US venues. The work at the time was very innovative and concentrated on producing paintings that coherently and successfully combined entirely abstract work with traditional representational painting on the same canvass, working mainly with the nude female figure. Since that time many artists have worked in a similar manner, today it is a painting style that is completely acceptable and understood by the public. This exhibition re-visits the subject matter and explores it still further, but with the added perspective of it being allied to, and expressing deep aspects of the illness Multiple Sclerosis. The application of the abstract, multi-media elements to the portraits was always intended to portray a deeper, emotional understanding of the subject. Strong sweeping lines display the sensualities and strengths within each, and colours reflect moods and sensitivity. Now we can probe deeper into the reality of those women affected by MS. To understand that their innate femininity is still entirely intact despite the encroaching disabilities that affect their everyday lives. It is understood that this crisis is one of the most destructive aspects of the disease, and it is more down to other peoples perception rather than reality."
