Joy and Sorrow (opening)

at The Buttermarket
After doing a short story on BBC Midlands Today less than four weeks ago, they promised to do an interview with Frank Sidney Smith at his exhibition, well just for a bit of extra special showmanship, Frank arrived by limo at the Buttermarket in Brindleyplace, and was interviewed on Friday morning.  Frank Sidney Smith : BBC Midlands Today (TV), 01 Feb 2008
By Friday afternoon the phone was ringing non-stop with people ringing to come to the show, having seen the lunch time Midlands Today news. So with stuffed rabbit at hand and a trusty camera, Frank told his story... little did we know what would happen....
Saturday came and at 11.00 there was a queue of people wanting to see the show.
Within 10 minutes all the works were sold and the posters which are signed were flying out the gallery.
Frank has chosen a charity and the proceeds of the poster sales will go direct to the Oncology Department of the Birmingham Childrens` Hospital.
So to all the people who came and left with big smiles and heartfelt experiences, to the team behind the scenes, Steve, Claire, Steff, Kit, Maggie, Greg and yours truly, we say a big thank you, because you all made it happen, A TOTAL SELL OUT on the first day...
